2025 was a real pivotal turning point for founder and Artistic Director Randolph Ward, — not just professionally, but personally. After almost a decade of finding the inner strength to trust his own voice, he officially registered RTWDANCE as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. RTWDANCE claims the freedom to create while confronting the deeply rooted "us vs. them" divisions in American language and culture. 

 

RTWDANCE creates space for society’s beautiful outsiders—the drag queens, ballroom and vogue dancers, pole artists, B-Boy breakers, queer and transgender artists—to take the classical theater stage and tell their stories without permission. We bring these stories and voices into spaces that were never built with them in mind. We choreograph our own visibility, claim the stage, and make our narratives impossible to ignore. We are not asking for a seat at the table. We are building our own table.
